How to Send a Document to a Fax Number

Whether the recipient is a hospital, court clerk, or vendor, NeedToFax makes the transfer feel like sending an email attachment.

Prep the number and the file

Ask the recipient for their direct fax line. International numbers should include the country code; for US numbers you can enter 10 digits and we’ll handle the rest. Make sure your document is final—NeedToFax will transmit exactly what you upload.

If you’re working from scans, export them as a single PDF. It keeps the fax order clean and reduces the chance of pages appearing out of sequence.

Send it with NeedToFax

  1. Enter the fax number and optional cover message. Use the tag fields if you need to track the expense later.
  2. Upload the document. We show an estimated page count and confirm the flat $1 fee for up to ten pages.
  3. Approve the payment via Stripe Elements and monitor the live delivery status. You’ll see the job ID the moment the carrier accepts the fax.

After it’s sent

  • Share the job ID with the recipient so they can reference it if their fax machine logs inbound calls.
  • Keep the confirmation screenshot or email for your own records.
  • If the recipient requests another copy, just re-upload and resend—the workflow takes less than three minutes.

NeedToFax is always available. Upload, confirm the number, and we do the rest.
